I worked for Anytime fitness for 4.5 years and had the opportunity to grow with a new company. The other part would have to be reaching out to member's whom have delinquent accounts. I have a little habit of staying past my shift's end in order to finish tasks I know need to get finished. The hardest part of my job is leaving when I know there is still more to be done. I am always finding creative ways to further the marketing, clientele, and in-house operations aspect of the gym. I am constantly given new challenges to face pertaining to customer service and satisfaction. I also gained more social skills in the two years working for Anytime Fitness than I have in any other profession I had a part in.īeing the manager of the particular location I am in, I quickly realized there are constant duties to stay on top of in order to maintain efficient business continuity. I taught multiple fitness classes and had to learn to adjust and cater to multiple people's needs at varying fitness levels. I was the intern in the beginning then became an employee with just the owner and the manager there. Anything they asked of me, I took full responsibility. I believe they new I was very capable of doing any job that needed to be done. As long as you maintain a good professional work environment, relationships and friendships will be built. I knew what needed to get done because both the owner and the manager lead by example. So I will always just have a stronger knowledge base because of working their. Exercises can be created just by changing the angle and adding a new variation making things more intense or modifying it for people with physical limitations. In a gym atmosphere I find it important to watch what other people are doing. I learned something new almost everyday working here. There is very little coaching by these area coaches, rather, they will hound you for rep[orts that may take an extra hour and a half to send in because the company is not willing to provide sufficient enough internet services to support the Wi-Fi feed at peak hours and the signal is constantly disrupted.Ī typical day working for this franchise group generally begins with you being recommended that you go in at least an hour or two before your actual shift begins to clean the gym, yet you will not be compensated for the extra hours worked.Īll day long, there is support given by the corporate office. The "area coaches" are really a few managers that are willing to fire people that are better than they are because they are afraid that they will be replaced by people below them. This franchise group will make promises that they are not willing to put into writing but still hold you to your end of the deal, and then not compensate you for your work well done. I worked as a general manager for the Texas City location and caught a first hand experience of all of this. FIT GROUP, TX is located in Georgetown, Big Spring, Marble Falls, Sweetwater, Texas City, and Gatesville, and sets a perfect example of how the wrong upper management team will disrespect, manipulate, and even cheat their employees. There are franchise groups, however, that do not represent the same standards set by the corporate vision. ![]() Anytime Fitness is a great company to look into, especially as an investor.
